CHENNAI – Originally I’m French but I’ve been living in Chennai, India since December 2011. I founded Surface85 as an online resource dedicated to inspire and empower the modern Indian woman. But it’s actually reaching women from all around the world, which is great.
India is a vibrant country with a very young, but inspiring fashion scene. It has a strong handcraft heritage that I would say is at the root of Indian fashion. But it’s also evolving into something more contemporary and modern in certain parts of the country. Living in India and going to fashion school here has taught me the importance of fabric and the art of craftsmanship. It’s also very interesting to live in a country where there’s a mix between Western fashion, with new luxury and high street brands entering every year, and the creativity of local brands.

I believe this is why Surface85.com has a unique perspective on style, beauty, and life. Personally, I have been inspired by my own heritage (French) and the different places where I’ve lived (Spain, China, and now India). All of these beautiful experiences in my life have influenced my personal style and creativity that I express through my website.
To me, style is more than the clothes we wear. It’s an attitude. I think confidence is everything. If you want to look your best, you should always dress for yourself. When I shop, I like to look at the material quality, the cut, and the fit. I’ll pay a little more for the items that check all three boxes. I like to keep things minimal, but still interesting. I enjoy sharing my aesthetic in styling that I developed after years of trial and error (trust me you don’t want to see pictures!). Finding your style is like finding your true self. You feel beautiful, strong, confident, and comfortable inside and out.

Surface85.com is not only about fashion. I also talk about beauty and life. I enjoy writing about topics related to personal development. These make up some of my favorite posts and spark some of the best discussions. I guess it’s a representation of my love for style and my desire to always be the best version of myself.
