JACKSONVILLE – I’m Navia Jordan, the daughter of two Barbadians and member of an enormous family. I am the creator of Sickly Rich, my personal fashion and lifestyle blog. I am seventeen years young and am getting ready to graduate high school and begin my venture into college where I plan on studying Communications so I can begin my career as a Fashion Publicist. Unlike many people who are beginning their journey into college, I happen to know exactly what I want to do with my life and how I want it to be done.

I am writing to you all from the city of Jacksonville, Florida which is not the best place for a trend obsessed girl like me, as it is seldom that anything fashion related happens here, but it is a great city with great people. As you can imagine, living in a city where beaches are in abundance, most people tend to dress in shorts, tank tops, and sandals on a daily basis, but for those of us who can’t imagine life without fashion we tend to stray from the brick path. I promise we exist!

Fashion is my outlet to express who I am and how I feel. Furthermore, I know that many people can easily define their personal style, but I’m not one of those people. My “style” can’t be contained to a few words and trends. But at the moment I am fixated on this newfound seventies trend that has unexpectedly popped up. When I first heard that the seventies were making a comeback I was majorly surprised as the first thing that came to mind was bell bottoms, denim suits, and insane sideburns, but after a little research I found that I was slightly off in my assumption. I find that high neck tops, wide leg pants, and snakeskin boots look wonders with my classic leather jacket and crazy curly hair. Although spring has rolled in (and the temperature is warming), I still want to explore this trend and develop something new within myself. As Rachel Zoe has said: “style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.” My style is my story and it describes my quest.
